447 Anniversary of Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL- FEBRUARY 25: View of the creek of Botafogo and Flamengo Beach in the south of the city. Rio de Janeiro was founded on 447 years ago, on the 1st of March of 1565 by Portuguese Estacio de Sa with the name of Sao Sebastiao of Rio de Janeiro. It was the capital city of Brazil from 11882 until 1960, when Brasilia was created with that purpose. Rio is also known as City of God or The Marvelous City. In the following years will host very important events, such as the Confederations Cup and the World Youth Day in 2013, FIFA World Cup in 2014, America Cup in 2015 and the Summer Olympics in 2016.
