People lay flowers and pay their respects where Constitutional law expert Gilles Cistac was murdered on March 3, 2015 in Maputo, Mozambique. A prominent lawyer who spoke in favour of granting more autonomy to Mozambique's provinces was was shot dead on Tuesday in the capital Maputo. "The patient Gilles Cistac died at 1:10 pm (1110 GMT) while undergoing surgery for a chest injury," the head of Maputo Central Hospital Joao Fumane told AFP. Cistac, a constitutional law professor at Eduardo Mondlane University, was walking down a main street in Maputo when he was shot by "four unknown men in a car", police spokesman Arnaldo Chefo said.
