Mosaic Panels Of Mariupol

MARIUPOL, UKRAINE - APRIL 9: A view of mosaic panels “Work” and “Sports” (created in 1967 by Valentyn Konstantynov, Lel Kuzminkov) on the facade of the workshop of the Azovmash plant on April 9, 2020 in Mariupol, Ukraine. Before the 2022 Russian occupation, Mariupol was home to one of the largest collections of mosaic monumental art in Ukraine. In the period from 1963 to 1987, 19 artists from all over the country managed to work in the Mariupol. Among them are both recognized masters of the genre and representatives of the local school. They created 26 large mosaic panels and many smaller works. Today, a large part of this heritage has been destroyed due the Russian large-scale invasion of Ukraine launched on February 24, 2022.
