(Original Caption) 5/31/1935-Washington, D.C.- A joint resolution sponsered by Senator David I. Walsh of MA, would create a commission to determine the location and design for a memorial to the men and women who have been notable in the history of the US. The memorial would display portraits, miniature and sculpture of America's famous people. An appropriation of $10,000 would go to this "National Portrait Gallery Building Commission."
