Congressman Goodlatte supports school safety bill

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia opens debate on the STOP School Violence Act, supporting the bill because violence in schools make students feel vulnerable at a place they should feel comfortable to learn, grow and be happy. Goodlatte says 80 percent of school shooters told someone of their violent plans are exhibited warning signs and the bill would ensure that students, teachers, and law enforcement to learn how to identify at risk behaviors and intervene appropriately before tragedy strikes.
